So I am new and decided to take up metal shaping. I have plenty of welding and metal work experience, but never shaping.

Right now I am just looking for some suggestions on books or whatever that cover the basics, terminology and very simple techniques.

I currently have for a long term project a '34 Chevy pickup that needs a lot of help and patch panels made in several areas.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome Nate,

As Ray mentioned there is a wealth of information here on Metalmeet. David Gardiner (http://www.metalshapingzone.com/shop/start) has a great video as does Peter Tommasini (www.handbuilt.net.au) . Look in our vendor section as most of the vendors supply videos. Again, there is a tremendous amount of information here on MM and online help as you need it.

Welcome Nate!
In October about 200 miles south as crow files in Oblong, Illinois you can get some hands on experience! There are few guys with Mid-30's Chevy truck that can help you along! tt
