Default DVD's

Metal Shaping DVD's are a niche market kind of product. There are a number of good ones out there, and mostly, you need to access their websites, look on ebay or amazon.

David Gardner is a regular poster and has a great DVD available. At the bottom of his posts you can find the link.

Lazze has youtube video's and sells DVD's through his website.

Kerry Pinkerton has a Metal Shaping 101 DVD that you can get by PM'ing him.

Ron Covell has quite a selection and they area available through Lane (see below) or she sells on both ebay and amazon.

Peter Tomasini also has good DVD's. The are available through Peter - he's a regular poster and has a link at the bottom of his posts - or through Lane again.

Kent White has DVD's and his are available through www.tinmantech.com

Terry has his Pullmax tooling DVD's available on ebay.

Wray has shrinking DVD's available on ebay.

There are likely more that I'm not thinking of now, but that should get you started.

There is this forum section for free video's already http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=121 I highly recommend looking at these and see who you like or who has one on a subject you want to learn.
Another section for discussing books and videos http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=169
It is hard to find things here for many topics cause they can be in many places, not always called the same everywhere in the world. The search function works well and it's free! You know metalshaping in morse code has never taken off wonder why? tt

Default YouTube

Lazze, Ron Covell and Kent White (search TM Tech) all have YouTube video's with info available.

There are lots of other metal shaping video's with information on you tube. Some with better information than others.

Here's a DVD I just picked up. I found it by watching youtube vids. The DVD is titled Bodywork Restoration Tutorial (a complete course on DVD) by David Gardiner. The pitch "Everything you need to know about shaping metal and restoring car body panels. Fromm shaping repair sections to welding and metal finishing. This video will show you age old techniques and act as your guide to proper repair of your panels using on hand tools. The dvd is 2hrs 30mins long.
I was amazed at watching all the things that can be done with just simple hand tools.

Default Great DVD

Okay Folks, yours truly is baaaack,
I bought the David Gardiner DVD and was very impressed. I am in the process of setting up a corner in my garage, unfortunately not very big, to start some serious metal banging in ninety eight day; YES I WILL BE RETIRED!!!!!!!! Seriously the video is great for those who want to learn how metal moves and reacts during shaping and cutting. I've been a Toolmaker for almost four decades and can tell you that fancy machines are great tools if you know what is really happening and know how to control it. Gulley Performance and Kent White have tools at resonable prices, cheap is as cheap does. The important thing here is to be able to work the job in your head first and David's video is just a great place to start. His website is called MZone, include his name when searching for it or you'll get the wierd stuff too.

Jim Hewitt

P.S. I'll start posting more often as I start the serious bending.
