Default Minn,Wisc and Beyond Metalmeet Date March 13-14, 2004

The date is set for the Minnesota, wisconson, Iowa and Beyond Metalmeet. March 13th and 14th, 2004. We may be able to meet early arrivals on Friday evening
We will meet at my manufacturing facility at 2303 Kennedy Street NE in Minneapolis. This is not a metal shop, we maunfacture cabinetry. However we have lots of space, electricity lights and compressed air. I believe we could accomodate at least 40-50 people.
Parking is available for cars, trucks and trailers. Many restaurants and fast food within 6-8 blocks.

I will be arranging for machinery to be brought in and we will have plenty of work benches. We have a seperate room where welding and cutting can be accomodated.

We have good facilities for unloading machinery, so if you would like to bring something large, contact me and we will arrange.

We will be arranging for steel and aluminum sheet to be on site. Therefore a small charge will be made to attendees. I don't know how much at this point but should be minimal.

I would appreciate some volunteers to help coordinate the event. If interested call at 612-730-8132 or email at rkleinschmidt@kincmn.com or post to this forum.

To get on the attendees list please post right here or email me at rkleinschmidt@kincmn.com.

Default Metal Meet NordEast Minneapolis.

Hey Richard,

I'll be there. I also just posted it to the Guild of Metalsmiths' email list. I know there a at least a couple people interested in moving sheet. http://www.metalsmith.org

You realize of course, that your shop is about 3 blocks from Arms and Armor. They have a great collection of stakes and stuff, a huge old fly press, and a few examples of actual Renaisance repousee on armor as well as their varying inventory of reproductions.

Probably well enough to arrange something.

There are some shots from our meeting there in Feb of 2002 in this online copy of the March 2002 "Forum" http://www.metalsmith.org/pub/forum/forum0203.htm

Just checked out the link on the armour stuff, very cool. I would like to see some of this stuff
Hey Richard Me and Joe are going to try and make it out there with some equipment to help with the shaping tooling. (a couple of our E-wheels and our new Plannishing Hammer) Look forward to it.

Default Minneapolis Metalmeet - More super english wheels

Kerry Pinkerton called today to tell me he plans to bring an assortment of his english wheels for sale. Kerry is travelling from Huntsville, Alabama. He manufactures a nice line of English wheels equipped with wheels from CNC Solutions of Indiana.

If you are considering purchase of a excellent wheel, now might be the time to contact Kerry and make a deal. He will deliver to Minneapolis without delivery charges. See his line at www.Wheelingmachines.com

If you have been considering building a wheel yourself; you will be happy to know Joe and Dennis of CNC Solutions of Indiana are planning to be at the Minneapolis meet with their line of beautifully machined english wheel rollers and their recently introduced air planishing hammer. See CNC Solution's line at www.englishwheelrollers.com

Both of these vendors will have their machines setup for participants to use throughout the weekend.

Hello Richard,

I would like to attend your event. Thank you for making the effort to host one! I've been wondering when someone would get something going near TC. Let me know if I can be of help with anything.
