Default Pullmax P9 Rebuild

Is there any interest to see step to step pictures of the P9 rebuild?
If interested I can post it here when I reasemble all the cleaned and rebuild parts.

Default p max rebuild

Do tell was it curiosity or need that has taken you down this road of rebuild.
Was it lose or shot bearings bad noises or just leaking lower seal . Is yours a two lever model ? if so can you take good pictures showing the linkages I believe I know what they are doing but it is hard to tell from manual. I was wondering if others use the belt tensioner as tell tale on over loading tattle tale clatter device . While forming with large doming dies on my P7 I will take it to clattering and back of a little . I would assume pivots and pins will fail before frame on a PullMax , any body confirm this ?

I'll take several pictures...
I just ordered a bronze bushing(material spec is RG12) ext dia 61mm and interiordia 44mm so it will be faster to turn to exact specifications... bushing was 25 euro and then 3 seals for about 30 euro.
I bought the machine unseen on auction ,when home checked it and then seen that the bronze bushing was excentrically worn...no oil just bronze sludge in the casing...
electrics also needs rebuilding as the electric motor.
All the roller bearings won't be changed as after checking they are fine...
All roller bearings are skf ones so still available...
Normally next week some pic's will be added.

Hey Nico

Looking forward to see and learn from your rebuild post. I hear you about buying sight unseen but in the long run you hopefully end up with a great piece of equipment.

Like you I will post up if there is interest my reworking of my Bridgeport CNC machine now that its finally warmed up enough to mess with it.

Here are the first pictures with the head mounted again and all seals changed...and bolted again on the frame, other pictures will follow.

The bronze bushing was made, including some play on the inner diameter to allow oil flow(off course very little play)

Untill now I have 25 euro in it for the bronze and 26euro for the seals, next the electric motor will receive new bearings,if it's okay!

Ray, I'm interested in seeing your CNC rebuild...I have an old aciera here that I still need to rebuild...

Nico,
Thanks for posting! Do you see signs that Pullmax balanced the spinning assembly? anything you have notice in wear? Take care! tt
