Default 2010 Jalopy Showdown Metalshaping Event

Well we are quickly coming up on the Jalopy Showdown and the Latimore County Fairgrounds adjacent to the EMMR (Eastern Museum of Motor Racing) in York Springs, Pa. The date is Saturday May 15th 2010. Been kicking around some ideas of maybe doing something special or focusing in on a special procedure. I'm always open to new ideas! If you have not been to this event, it is the largest tradional hot rod show east of the Mississippi. The people have treated us better than any other event I've been to. the Showdown is put on to help support the EMMR, we will ask for a donations for the museum, please give what you can. Here is a link to the Showdown http://www.jalopyshowdown.com/http__...m/Welcome.html and here is one for the EMMR http://www.emmr.org/ tt

Hi Terry
I'm planning on being there. I just ordered a fiberglass 36 Ford truck grill shell and I'm going to try and use it to make a steel one. I'll bring a bunch of tools along with a 110v scratch start TIG welder. It's cheap, but it will work with the limited electric there.

J, are you going to work on the outside part of the shell? or are you going to shear up some "teeth" to make the center. I should have a real "hack job" 36 truck. 35 is narrower(or not as deep) 36 deeper, thicker radiator, the fix for overheating 35's. the hackjob it had new grille inserted, joints are brazed, won't hold the stainless trim right. tt

Terry
Can you can dig it out and bring it? It might help being able to see what the steel one looks like. I'm sure the fiberglass one will be a little different.

Stan
Rick is still saying we're going to get up there. I'll try and get him to take a day off and go on a road trip.

Stan, I still have your hammer. I'll bring whatever everyone else doesn't bring. Has it really been almost a year? I haven't done squat. Too busy building and fixing tools to use em. Phfftttttt.

Probably no 220vac, other maintenance issues have priority. We are the only ones that have a use for it.
