Mark here is some "extreme" shrinking with a thumbnail die in 48oz copper (about 16ga steel - 1.64mm) the original blank is about 50 x 36"

here was the start. After this first round of shrinking, I got more organized.

I drew concentric arcs on the blank to match the contour lines I was trying to get.

to rough in the shape, I would run a radial pattern around the form.
one pass to the deepest penetration, then I'd go around again and put another pass between each of the first ones and go only to the next line out, then I'd make another pass and go between each of those and go the the 3rd line out, another time around betwixt all of them to the 4th line out.

This gave me the faceted bowl shape which quickly planished out round under the wheel.
