Default Kid's Space Bicycle

Hi Gang ,

a co-worker of mine is a bike nut and showed me a book about bycicles from the 1920 and 1930 t's ,By looking true the book i found a bike that got my attention and i fell in love with it.

It is called the Bowden Spacelander.

If you do a search on google on this name and click pictures it shows some different pictures.

I took on of these pictures and traced a sketch on it in Solid Works scaled it at the right size to fit a kid's bike and printed it out ,glued the prints together and i had a paper template to work with.

I think this is a proto type of the bike.

something to start with for parts.

Paper Template

after a lot of cutting, and grinding i had the model i liked.

side view of model

I taped the whole model at once and then decided to cut it to what i thought are makeble pieces ,put line-up marks and names on them with a marker and then taped them of so they won't wash away while in use.

To be continude.

Ben.

Default First panel

Hi Gang,and Bob,

mite put the drawing in my album, give me some time to do that,

next are pictures from the first panel i started one hour ago,

Sides on this panel are shrunked streched in the enter with helve Hammer

These are proto type shrinking dies that i made to be able to shrink over 90 degrees because you don't hit the toolholder.

Default Kool bike!!!!

I'm not much into bicycles....but that is an awsome design....Buck Rogers might have even rode that!!!

Your progression is very nicely shown...keep us posted...I'm very interested!!!

(food for thought....)

Wouldn't that be a cool looking motorcycle....

keep up the good work

Bowden protoypes were first made in cast aluminum,

the production bikes were made from fiberglass.

I really like the small scale one you are making , great project

Ohhh and Mr Bowden was British and a well known disigner in the UK
