Alex,

Be sure to post another eDrawing as well as the SW and IGES when you get to a benchmark.

This is truly top-drawer stuff!

Default Ergonomics concerns

Hi Alex,

My main concern now is making sure we can get the Sultan and his #1 wife ( she's 5' 11") into the cabin without them having to become contorsionists. If we find out that the cabin is too small, will that require a total redraw or can the current model be stretched and pulled out and upward without losing all the work you have done so far?

How much massaging, pinching, and stretching of the overall shape can be done in the solid model?

I understand if you have a simple shape that has been modeled in SolidWorks you can change it significantly. Can you do the same with a very complex shape like the Bugatti solid model?

Thanks.

Alex,

I have 6-errors in the imported IGES of the body surface. I can't actually see anything wrong. Do you have any idea what's going on?

Doug,

Try suppressing/deleting the wheels and tires. Mine sped-up dramatically when I did that.

Alex,

You have really taken the design to such a far stage in what seems like overnight.

It is outstanding to be able to watch a true artist at work.

Watching the progression in color images and having such great feedback from the group makes this a truly unique international activity.

I am sure more folks will become excited and make contributions in very short order.

Thank you for joining MM and making such a valuable contribution. It is an honor to watch the Bugatti evolve.

I'm going to have to give up on sleeping. FOUR pages of new posts in 12 hours! I had to go change my underwear when I saw the blue image!!!!!! WOW! Now if that doesn't make someone want to shape metal they're in the wrong forum!

It even got Wray up at 7:30am on a Sunday!!!!!!! LOL

Yep, I had to do that. I also had errors reading the IGES in one program, but another program handled it.

The iges file went into Rhino ok. I exported the seats to poser and then brought the figure back.
I see I need to work on the angle of the legs, the go cart brake routine looks a bit out of place.

here is how a six ft figure fit. It could probably be a little lower in the seat.
Maybe the seat angle could go back?

gotta go.

3D modeling is just the best tool for getting it right the first time you build it and it doesn't have to be "solid" to be useful.

Good stuff, Gene.

Default IGES or Parasolid?

Alex,

Maybe the answer to the IGES error-problem is Parasolid 14.0 instead... or maybe in addition to?
