Hi Peter
On the parts that I had made, they held +- .003. I have not seen it yet, but they are working on one that will hold +- .0005.

As I said earlier, the finish is like a casting. We cleaned up our mating surfaces with a .003 cut. I think for bearings, you still will have to grind them, though not very much.
At the demo, I did see a bearing surface that took just .002 to clean it to an almost polished bearing surface. So it is close to making bearings. I'm just not privy to how close they are.

I know everybody's tired of waiting. The proportions of the features are off but it's getting pretty close. Doesn't look like much but I must have 40-50 hours invested, so far.

Mike

Default Mike models the main body section

Hi Mike,

It's looking great, can you explain what your next steps will be? Thanks!

Could you post the file as a zip file attachment so everyone can see the power of using the free SolidWorks viewer?

Thanks,

Wray

Default 3D titanium printing?

Hey Jeffery, do you have a link to those guys that do the 3D Titanium printing/powder/laser thingy (I don't even know what to call it). I saw the link to the plastic one. Very cool.

Greatly appreciated,

Jay

When I tried to upload the attachment I got "The page cannot be displayed" error. I don't know what's up with that. I'll try again later.

could you send the file to me so i could run trought it .

thanks

Ben

Mike

Hi Mike,

If 1.5 meg is the compressed size it will not be able to upload as an attachment. The zip file limit is 200k for post attachments.

We can bump up the that limit but if we do we risk slowing down the whole site because the database gets so large.

Jack has a site that we can upload larger attachments to, we might have to use that site for the large files.

Jack can you e-mail me the URL for the new large file site? Thanks
