Zippity Do Dah. Zippity Yay!
My! Oh, My!! What a wonderful day! It's hard to find the words, but boy it was worth every nickel and every minute. I got my brother to join me (us) and that made it even better. I had my doubts about a 'tent meeting' but nice weather while I was there made it work out very well. Randy was a most gracious host, and the friends I made at last year's event made me feel right at home. I'm already looking forward to seeing them, and the friends I made this year, again, next time. I wish I'd been able to stay for the whole event. For a temporary site, the tent housed the most remarkable collection of equipment, tools, experts, and energy I've ever seen. If school had been this neat I'd have gotten a Ph.D. in arts and craftsmanship... Thanks to all the folks whose prodigious efforts made it happen. My hat's off to their successful achievement. Thanks too, to the vendors whose efforts and wares were worth going to see. Jim Spradlin, he of the Henrob Torch, put the finishing touch on some of my efforts, and taught me what I have to look forward to when gas welding sheetmetal projects in the future. It was amazing and refreshing to see folks moving about trying their hand at anything that took their fancy. My brother was amazed by all the high-risk stuff that was going on, with nary an injury or mishap. I guess he's worked too long in a factory and not an atelier. The congeniality evidenced by everyone was truly inspiring in these days of tumult and terror. May you all be blessed by continued achievement and contentment with your chosen avocation. Best wishes to you all. danz |
