---John, Great idea. I think Lowbuck Tools sells a louvering die for their beadroller. Maybe I'll try that out.

Tony,
With my set up I can and do louver radiused panels. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaby removing my delrin female shape I can make any length louver needed. I will bring a couple of the different presses that I have gathered from several race car builders to MM04

Stan,

I think it would be difficult to use my louver cutter on the acute curves associated with CycleCarts. That's the reason I was planning to use inserted panels on my hood. Now that Tinman has come up with his idea, I'm probably going to try that due to the curved shape of the hood.

If his roller die technique works on steel, I feel a smoother look to hood's surface will be achieved.

Default Louver press

---Hi Stan, It would be great to see your louver presses, and like Butch said maybe you could teach us how to use them.
I have a real sharp radius on my belly pan, 3" . I wanted to make some louvers along this radius. Would I have to make a louver die with the same radius?
---Tony.

Tony,
If you look at the photo that Wray took of a set of my dies with thr plastic female insert you can barely see a 1/2`` riser centered under the male cutter. I added that many years ago to do radiused hoods and belly pans.
The material I use for the male die is tool steel , I make up square blanks of varius lengths drill and tap them with two 1/4`` holes approx. 1 1/4`` apart and then harden them. With these blanks I grind to copy any shaped louver I need to match what was on the original car.
I`m not good at explaining this crap but I will bring this stuff to MM04 and anyone can do this with little practice

Default Beadroll louvers

I finished the bucks today.
They worked good and it will make the car seam to be more realistic.
Now all I have to do is work up the courage to start cutting them in my hood.

Default Louvers

Stan, can I louver my roses at MM04? I saw the pics of your press. Slick thinking, does the job. I could see how it could adapt to a radius because of its narrow construction. Sometimes the simple things are the best things.............john
