Anyone know a recipe for making cheap blade coolant? How about 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze?
Thanks,

Metalchomper,
How about water pump lube and antirust. The stuff you put in your car radiator. It works great on my valve refacer. Jim Russell |

Ok, tried this all day yesterday cutting pieces for my new ewheel. Used a 14.7oz container of water pump lube and corrosion inhibitor (~$3.00), about a gallon of water and a couple good squirts of liquid dish soap. So far so good

Brett, I use a product called " Lubestick " you just rub it across the top and down the side of the stock cutline, it increases blade life a quit a bit over dry cutting, can be used for taps and drilling also. No splash or water to clean up. That is all we used in any of the tool rooms that I worked in, one tube will last you a lifetime and can be bought at any industral machinery supply store. It is made under many name brands, auto part stores sells it as " Door Ease " to lube the door striker plate on cars.

I posted the following picture of the equivalent DoAll product the last time this topic came up.
I push the lube stick into the blade while it's running at a low speed to lube the teeth of the blade as opposed to rubbing it on the part to be cut. |
