Default Cuesta Metal Meet 2012

Here are the pictures I took of the 2012 Cuesta Metal Meet
Details:
- July 13th, 14th, & 15th of 2012.
- Cuesta Junior College, near San Luis Obispo, California, USA
- 2nd Annual Cuesta Metal Meet

Tony, or someone else, is going to have to give you the attendance numbers and other details.

I'm going to need some help with names on these pictures...please PM me, if you have the names which go along with these pictures.

Tony and Ron did a wonderful Job of hosting. The Cuesta Junior College facilities are absolutely perfect for a metal meet...plenty of room, plenty of electricity and plenty of compressed air...

Ron was the chef this weekend and did a spectacular job of keeping us fed, although that left him little time to attend seminars himself. For breakfast, we had yummy breakfast burritos. My tum tum was satisfied at lunch time with plenty of Ron's chili and tri-tip (a cut of beef, which is quite popular in California, similar to the beef brisket popular elsewhere in the US). We'll have to find you some volunteer help next year, Ron, so you can attend the seminars too.

Friday started with a basic metalshaping seminar...

Then everyone was set free on all the wonderful equipment available, to try new skills and build their projects...

This is probably the only picture of Tony you've ever seen on Metal Meet, since he's usually the one taking pictures...

A few folks brought their own projects (in progress or complete)...

Saturday morning started with a demonstration on solid rivets (Solid Rivets 101) by Kevin / Machine_Punk, from The Aerodrome Studio (yours truly).
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to give a seminar and take pictures of the seminar at the same time...so you'll just have to use your imagination.

Then, we had a great seminar on Saturday, on metal finishing...

We also got a demonstration on the metal shrinking disc...

And a brief discussion on the benefits of a 'shrinking hammer,' (HINT: the thing they call a shrinking hammer is useless...file it down smooth and make a regular hammer out of it)...

Please feel free to add your pictures, observations and comments.
