Default Power hammerproject

What basic specifications should I follow if I build a power hammer?

Horsepower? Would like to stay 120v if possible.

Belt/pulley combinations? (what speed do i want?)

Shaft size? (keyed or not?) Was thinking about pto shaft from hydraulic pump on truck wet kit, but don't know if diameter would work.

Where to buy, or how to build connecting rod and cam mechanism?

What size material for frame?

Any other info or suggestions would help.

Thanks!!

John
Are you thinking along the lines of a Metalcrafter's style hammer or on the order of a Richard Kleinschimdt's Shopdog? If it's a M/C's style I have plans and most of the info pics here http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/album.php?albumid=249 Plus Ed Thomas has a three-headed monster knows all the "tuning" tricks. Richard's Shop Dog style info here http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5394

Here is a link to my Bammbamm. It is a 15# power hammer invented by Ben here on MM. It is easy to build and works great!
