Welding Essentials by Don Geary

There might be better ones. That just happened to be the first book I bought on the subject and it was several years ago. It truly doesn't matter that much. I mostly used it for gaining a better understanding of the safety issues. I think watching welding videos did more for my understanding of torch technique, especially David Gardner's DVD.

I would have preferred to get some direct training but it just wasn't readily available. I have since found a local blacksmith that has offered to have me out to his place, which I will probably do in the next few weeks.
