Terry,
Just curious as to what inspired you to post the web site for SPI. I am in the process of buying a paint booth and have been subcontracting my paintwork up to this point. I recently had a Rolls-Royce sprayed with material from this company. The results were like none I have seen from any of the other big name manufacturers. The clear is absolutely crystal clear and lays down so smooth it was incredible. There was no meniscus issue on the edges that would need to be blocked out prior to sanding polishing. Nice stuff.

Rick,
Barry Kives has been a big supporter of the Oblong meet. There were no posts so, I thought I'd add a little info, doah ya got me.... I didn't see the link in the header.... Having vowed never to use dupont for the raping of America in turning refrigerants into a cash cow for them and the gov't (can't blame al gore for this) I have been reading up on SPI products, when I get to the point of using up my old stock, that is what I'm going too. Glad to hear you have seen good results too! Take Care! tt

I can honestly say that Barry Kives is a very good friend of mine first, and the manufacturer of the paint products that I use second. He is one of the most honest people that I know.

Yes Barry is a supporter of Metal Meet and the Oblong Metal meet in particular. What most people don't seem to understand is that he does not do that for any type of financial gain. What he spends is not for advertising to gain sales, in fact he did not want it out what he had done in the past. Barry found out how much it cost to put on the metalmeet and wanted to help. Barry did it in the hopes that more people would be able to afford to attend the Metalmeet.

As with any other organization supporter, it would be great if you would help them out by purchasing their products. This is a case where using their products is one of the best deals you could find anywhere.

I've been using SPI products for years and as far as I'm concerned if your not using SPI epoxy primer on your projects your doing yourself a huge injustice, not just any epoxy but SPI epoxy....

I have heard great things bout their finishes, but I'm curious what color coats they offer.. Looks like only SPI Red?? What color have you guys been using with the SPI for a substrate?

Looking to shoot a jeep in a light primer grey soon, but would like to find a decent single stage topcoat that wasn't destined for a tractor and won't break the bank, either.

Bill..... I have used the SPI products with Sherwin Williams, Dupont, and Pro Spray bases. Since I have started using Pro Spray, I have found large savings on the bases. As far as I know, the only base that SPI makes is a special Red (SPI RED) that he makes for street rods. He quit making bases a couple of years ago, but has kept that color because it is not available from someone else, and there were several Rod Shops using it.

Default spi people are great

I am very happy with thier products....at any price. You can call them or go on the web site and have a answer in minutes. There are user instructions that are very clear not a refrence to another tech manual that always changes. They tell you how to use the products and all the tricks.
