Default Die Pressure

Pat,

My situation is the roof is 66" wide, so I'm using a 34" CP frame. Die pressure has been an issue, so I've shimmed up the lower die to assist with the pressure. Likely I should add another shim (washer).

I am using a low crown die myself - but not sure if it's 36 or not. As the roof is about 5'6" in the air, it means I'm having to stand on a ladder, which makes it more interesting.

In my next attempt, I'm going to have someone inside, pushing up on the bottom of the frame for two reasons. One, their holding onto the frame will help stiffen it, secondly, I find that unless I'm lifting up on the frame with a lot of force, it will tend to make a low spot rather than move it up. Putting that lifting pressure on, while standing on a ladder, reaching over 33" to grab the hand lever - makes for one tired puppy.

Thanks,

John
