Wow , Heather does some awesome repousee! Was that piece of
seaweed a separate piece?

I see you mentioned that she uses AK or AKDQ, I'll concede in this extreme example of metal torture AK might help.

I also doubt that The Negroli family living in 16th century Italy used any special metals, if they did they had to make it themselves.

---Hi Wray, The sea horse and the seaweed are all on one panel. Two years ago when I took these photos, Heather said that she couldn't have stretched the metal this far without the AK steel. Other projects done on cold rolled would tear long before AK.

I know this is an old post. I just had to chime in because I've never seen Heather's work before. It's beautiful.

It looks like Heather's piece made it to the Abana conference in Seattle

Wow. That is simply amazing. Thank you, Kirsten, for bringing this back up.

I wish the earlier pictures were still intact. I would love to see some how-to on repoussé.

Plus I added this pic of the install. You see, the cow did jump over the moon.

Now that's cute, the cow jumping over the moon. Was that the client's specific request or did you suggest it?

It was my suggestion.
The client is an architect that used to be Lighting designer at the Childrens Theater co. His living room is decorated with old props. A nicely painted "blue boy" copy from some set or other and instead of some regular hunting trophy on the "cabin" wall, they have the the plaque mounted head of a "Who beast" left over from a production of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
I was just carrying on with the whimsy.

There request was that the floor plate have animal tracks formed into it. So we have bunnies, raccoons, mice and pheasants. (there might have been a deer print too. . . I don't remember.)
