Default 1963 Pontiac Tempest Super Duty aluminum front-end

Just finished this project last weekend. It was a race to the finish, so I didn't get as many pics as I would like, but here are a few. Some were taken at the restoration shop by visitors as well as the shop owner, Scott Tiemann.

The core support panels had been cut for some reason during the cars short but very successful time as a factory prepped race car.

After repair.

Trial fitting the pieces together.

A BIG THANK YOU! to Paul Monds for making the lower anvil for my e-wheel to roll the peak in the center of the hood. It worked great. I have a solid rubber fork lift wheel that use for the upper wheel and have several lower anvils special made for various operations such as this. Kinda like a huge bead roller.

The finished product, on display at today's "Concours d'Elegance of America" at Meadow Brook Hall (Rochester, MI):

Looks great Randy! How did you know what the core support was supposed to look like with those pieces missing?

Hi Jacob,

A quick phone call to the restorer and a tape measure!

Thanks for all the compliments.
