try compairing the door to an XK-E door. the bug looks big to me! I have a factory hardtop on my XK-E and am 6'2". Wray, I'll bet if we overlay the drawing the BUG door is LARGER, certainly taller. I cant imagine it would be too bad to enter. There must be a decent E pic we can overlay to get a size idea.

Front or rear hinge would make a huge difference. rear hinging is more 'period correct' but would make it very hard on a small door. front hinging makes entering much easier.

just incase you guys are interested I have PILES of photo's of Bugatti car interiors, foot pedals and general bits. Car owners have always been amazingly nice about allowing me to get in the cars and take closeups of the parts.
