Cool pneumatic foot valve

Hello, I'm looking for a reasonably priced, foot operated variable flow valve for a planishing hammer I'm attempting to build. I believe it needs a 80 to 120 psi range. Its just going to be a low budget hammer for fabbing an ocasional motorcycle gas tank. Also, any reccomendations on the proper air hammer would be helpful. I was just planning on using a mid range ($50-$80) northern equipment hand unit but my mind is open.

Default planishing hammer

Welcome Doug,
I would look for a 3X or 4X rivet gun. Sometimes they show up on ebay for a decent price. Some of the people on this sight have used a foot control from Harbor Freight. Maybe one of them will post letting us know how well they worked or them.

Default Foot Operated Air Control Valve

Hi Doug. I just finished my air hammer up last weekend and from the little that i have seen and done with it im impressed. I went budget too and ended up buying a sears medium duty air chisel ($30 i believe...been awhile ago), and i snagged an air regulater from work (the 0-90psi works fine...plenty of air to move the metal...anything over 90 might leave pretty bad dings in your work ,plus most tools are rated for 90psi max arent they?), and i purchased the foot operated air control valve from www.McMaster.com for $50 #9781K12, (uses 1/8" fittings so you will probably need two 1/4" - 1/8" reducers.) Im sure if Harbor Freight has them it will be cheaper but the one that i have was recommended to me so i went with it. I wish i had some pics of the hammer and the work ive done with it. Actually...i wish i had the digital camera to take the pics with...LoL. Hope this helps. Jeremy
