Default Harley fender

How about reproducing that light in sheetmetal? The cast light is very heavy, but the components weigh nothing, ot's all in the housing......good project........jb

John,
Sorry it took me soooo long to get this post up. It's been really busy here lately, so haven't had time to do anything much, but work.... Now, I hope I can figure out how to post the image....

Well, I guess I'm an idiot... it wont preview... maybe it will show on the forum... I followed the procedure in the forum, or at least, I think I did... I'm tired, going home and will probably try later.

Yes Jim,
I thank you for the assistance... this hasn't been a shiny "computer week" around here. Sometimes ya just gotta stop, step back, regroup, and try later.
At any rate, John Brown, this is the way the fender is configured right now. In it's original form, the small marker lights (extra brake) were where the braces are now. In that configuration it "wagged it's tail" so hard that it cracked the fender. I switched the positions, then installed a brace where the top tubes come aft to the adjusters. That seemed to stiffen it up considerably, but I'm still shaking bulbs out quite often.
I'm liking your idea about the sheet metal "tombstone" tail light.. that might be a great solution! I had also thought of running some tubing in the inside of the fender, near the outer corners, from the front to somewhere near the back, to transfer some of the stress and also to stiffen it more. My other thought was to make heavier braces from the adjusters to the fender, but I hate to do that..
Any input will be appreciated..... maybe not followed.... but definately appreciated! hahhaa
Thanks again, Jim.
John H.

Hi John,
I'm glad to be able to help. I used to have a hard time posting pictures too! Once you get it, it's pretty easy. Just click on the img box once. Copy - ctrl c - and paste -ctrl v - the picture address ( right click on the image, click on propertys, and highlite the url) then click on the img box again. You almost had it.

Jim
