Default What´s going on in my garage?

Hi all!

Some of yours may have seen threads and post from me but I have not introduce myself very well:o so now its time for that!

I live in the middle of Sweden and have done metalwork from the day I close my schoolbooks 25 years ago. In the start I worked as a welder in medium to heavy stainless and steel constructions, after some years I had done work in all from 0,5 mm to 150 mm and find it more interesting to do just one or two of the same thing
So I have always try to choice work after this idea and that have been a great way to keep me curius to learn more and more

The last 15 y I have almost just done one of each piece who leave my hands and I like it so much-it´s fantastic

In this thread I will show what´s happen in my garage, I´m into everything from candleholders, parts for bikes/cars to complete construction of ??

Hope you enjoy my posts, and If you just don´t understand me-just ask and I will gladly try to explain it better!

I will try to make the posts clear and easy for beginners (step by step) so you with more experience may find it "to" simple but don´t forget-also you have start from the bottom

Here I start with a insane thing I need to my henhouse :o

I cut down a great tree but need the stump as a support for the fence.
On the top of the stump it would be nice with a hat-not a simple one, why go the easy way?

I need a simple layout for this work with 8 corners so I had some to measure from-easier to make the mistakes in paper...

Then I figure out the profile and glued the "stations" to the bottom - I have a buck after 10 minutes!

Now it´s time to lay som posterpaper over the buck and transfer the shape of the pie on it.

I transfer the pattern to a stiffer piece of cardboard, it easier to scribe after this one and I save it for use in the future.

Here you can see how I use a piece of 15 mm hss to scribe with, that add the extra material for my folded edge.

Here is the pieces cut out with my electricalshare-important to be careful and cut as close the scribe as possible to avoid problems with the fit later.

Now its time for the tipping operation and this is my setup for it - a soft lower wheel and a upper one with a pretty sharp edge.

This pic show the way I tip/fold the edge, I do this in two steps and make the final adjustments with hammer and dolly.

That´s all for now and I will continue tomorrow
Let me know if you like it this way or if I can do it ln a other way!

Take care!
//Per

Vilken underbar täcka!
Den stubbe skulle vara stolta att bära den.

Gosh, wish I could win the lottery or something and come play with the rest of the Vikings (and Viking wanna-bees )

From tomorrow and forward there will be more time for work in the garage and it starts with work on a -33 tudor who been completly built by Mooneyes Sweden and I will be in there for some sheetmetal work together with Håkan, that will be fun! I will let the camera follow the work

Hi, today I started to make a new skin for the -33 tudor door.
The skin has been replaced one time before and that makes it more complicated to make the cut..

..here is the blanket I start with...

and here it has the correct shape after some passes throu the wheel, it takes two to make this , so I and Håkan rolled it together
also the edge is folded and it´s time to put it on the doorframe
More will come later...thanks for looking

Ps. Ray, I will put the "helmet" right on my head tomorrow!
