Default Help! I just acquired a used slip roll and....

I have NO idea how to set it up! I've been searching the posts here, and I can tell that there are some really sharp people on this site. Can anyone shorten my learning curve? It's a 36" Tennsmith manual slip roll. How do I go about setting the adjustment screws to roll a cylinder? What adjustments do I make to roll a cone? I noticed that it has a scale next to one screw, what's that used for? It has a quick release for the top roll and a handle to lift the roll, if I'm making several identical parts can I leave the adjustment screws where they were from the first part and insert another blank or do I need to back off the screws and sneak up on the setting each time? Thank you in advance! Stephen

Default slip roll

Adjust the top and bottom roll to pinch the metal and feed it through.

Adjust the back roll either parallel for a cylinder or offset for a cone.

The upper roll release is to get a cylinder out of the machine.

If you feed from the front you will get a flat spot on the first inch or two. Feed from the back forward to eliminate the flat.

To roll a radius in the center of a flat panel either lift the top roller and insert your piece part way and roll. Depending on how tight a radius you may get a crease where you clamp down. When I roll hoods that have a taper radius in the middle I start in from the edge even though I want that first foot or so flat. the rolls curve the part I want flat but pull down as you exit the material toward yourself and flatten that area as it was.
