Mayer Bros, Helve hammer
  This was designed as an alternative type blacksmithing power hammer. Mayer Bros, made the "Little Giant" as well. Pete Stanatis restored this one. more on that at: http://www.spaco.org/easyrep.htm

That 's a pretty slick looking hammer. I love mechanical parts and figuring out how they work and how the person first figured to do it that way. Thanks for the picture.

Talk about hefty....
Thanks Gene, wow, that is a heavy hitter. Pete did a nice job restoring it. I can see where it would be a "blacksmithing" hammer. I think it would obliterate sheetmetal. Thanks for the link.
