post vice height

Hi all,

not sure where this should go, but anyway.....

If I were to get a post vice, to hold stakes/dollies, and sometimes hold projects directly, how high should it be? Will I have to know the height of the stakes first to firgure out the final hammering height?

Dave,
The pexto type of anvil were made to go on a bench or stand about 30-32" high. No real right or wrong answer. I found you need to have it closer for softer more accurate blows. so I came up with this idea, you might try it.
