I'm the first to book this time.

Got hold of 2 pieces of railroad track. I'll cut them in pieces and there should be a piece for everyone if each piece is not too long. Is 5-7cm OK?
If you have David Gardiner's video you know how to use it.
I can also cut Ryanair Specials of 5mm length. :D

kfs
10-03-2010, 01:00 AM
I have had some questions from lokal Norwgian's

''I was wondering if this is open to all? I'm a true novice, I can cut and I can weld, but I can't shape ! ''

and the answer are :

the only requirements for any metal meet (international or regional) has been to come with a willingness to learn, share what you can

It's a great time to learn some tricks and techniques from some seasoned metal shaping vets, machinists, artists, blacksmiths, etc

For your safety it is recommended that you bring-
Ear protection. Banging sheetmetal makes noise as does the grinders and some machinery.

Some type of work glove to protect your hands from the sharp edges of sheetmetal.

Safety glasses/face mask are very important.

A good work shoe is a good idea. you wil get many houers standing on conkret floor

If you are planning to do any welding or just want to watch, please bring your welding helmet and welding gloves.

Everyone is very generous lending tools. Always ask first and always bring the borrowed tool back to where you got it. No one should have to go looking for their own tools.

Bring any hand tools you want to bring. Tin snips, hammers and dollys are always useful. Files, grinders, vise grips ........

Large tools are also welcome. Every year we have folks bring welders, english wheels

we culd use one more E-wheel this year !!

Bengt-Olof
10-09-2010, 10:53 AM
I will take with me: LAZZE shrink and stretch. E-wheels (not finished)
will be very nice to meet everyone again:D

You guys are right.... We ARE having a blast ans Karl and Line are GREAT hosts!!!:) (Ray... cookies came from Line :) She baked for us every day of the meeting http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif)

A couple of pictures coming up ;)

http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=223&pictureid=2362

Cap got chopped and Steinar and Knut started welding the roof back on

http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=223&pictureid=2361

Karl Fredrik in the machine shop (noise center) we set up the planishing hammers in here. The grey one is a European HF type and the rusty one is the one I threw togehter in an hour or so, when I needed it for the Volvo wheel well... should have built a decent one long ago and will this winter.

http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=223&pictureid=2360

Bengts ewheel is almost done

http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=223&pictureid=2359

Tom finished patching up the VW hood and he decided to move the accent line. The original one was the horizontal line you see in the pic. Wanted the line to be a constant arc around the edge. Will smooth it today.

http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=223&pictureid=2358

Jon made the rear panel for the sidecar. Take a good look at it... this is the first panel Jon EVER made http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif He's patient and he's listening to advice http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif and a fast learner! Well done Jon!!!
