I am going to try and upload a few pics so you can see what I am talking about but, my front door handles are a mix of brass and copper. They were hand made. It looks as if the gentleman took a regular brass door handle with a thumb latch at the top and added brass and copper. It appears as though he added brass / copper soldering to the handles. They look almost like a tree limb and are pitted with black holes. (We glass artists call this a poor solder job) It looks incredible and I want to add metal to the 1/8" angle iron to look like the metal on my door knobs. Is the proper term soldering or brazing? I want to add metal decoratively. We call this decorative soldering in glass art. What solder (if that's what it is?) would I use to get the copper or brass on to the angle iron? Would I use a soldering iron or a torch. I have ordered the "Little Torch" by Smith to enhance these frames. I have also purchased copper sheet and copper rod from the Santa Fe Jewelers Supply. Not sure how to use it yet, though. Any help getting started or with information would be greatly appreciated! (SORRY, UNABLE TO UPLOAD PICS)
