Here are some pics I found of the Donnie Smith bike show last year. I was going through a pile of disks and found these. Some neat metalwork on some. Sorry I don't know any builders names. I'm sure some of the people on this site were there so if you know any info please add.
Jim
PS.. I don't know how to "ander-ize" the pics for easy viewing, sorry ;)

Close, Jim.
You got the page the image was on, just not the image.
You have to right click on the image itself and if you are useing Internet Explorer, click on properties and copy the address of the image itself.
(if you are using Firefox there is a menu option that says copy image location to clipboard (it doesn't get much easier than that) Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/) is free and at least when I downloaded it was recommended by no less than the department of Homeland Security as being more reliable and secure than the MicroSoft offering)
Once you have the image location in the clipboard, click on the little landscape drawing icon in the toolbar and paste the image location into it.

I recognize a few bikes as being from Redneck Engineering. One from Amen motorcycles. And the smooth orange bike that looks like a Hotwheel is amazing. I can't remember the shop that built it, but it's a great bike. Even better looking in person. And, so are their bare metal bikes that are in progress. They do some real nice stuff.

jim i find posting photos like hammering out bowls ! thats right doing it a second time is allways my challenge.
love the bikes, i havent ridden in ages-ages n ages. however none of these bikes make me want to throw my leg over them ! i appreciate them for there craftsmanship and novelty - but give me a dressed indian with wheel pants or a excelcior from the 20s. i'd like to take the time to do a 20s style bike with a tube tank and stright pullbacks, set high and comfortible of course late model running gear for dependability.
roger, just an old fuddy, but i run the Bugly tool and Services empire

I'm with ya' on this one. When I was a Triumph dealer back in the late 60's and 70's, we used to observe that the fellas that rode pretty much left their bikes chassis and suspension stock. Those that didn't ride, built choppers - then they gave up motorcycles http://206.125.208.236/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
I'll start getting ready to duck the rocks that are sure to thrown, but that is how it was.

I really am moved by Scott Barnett's work, and felt immediately saddened by his passing. Thanks for sharing the pics with us. There truely is some incredible work being done out their.

I have a great deal of respect for the older style bikes myself. As I learn more about metal I can apreciate all the work that goes into all of these bikes. I would love to build a old pan-based bobber for crusin. There is a lot to be said about a bike that is more fun at 50mph than at 100!!!:D

Richard-
Really nice bike. I love all the details. It is nice to see people put that much work into something and than ride the hell out of it. My first Harley I bought when I was 18.(1973 XL) It was a mess, didn't run and leaked all over. But I fixed it up made it mine, and I did get to ride mine to graduation! :D
Thanks for showing the pics, Jim
