I need to put a rolled edge on the sides of vintage m/cycle guards before putting them through the profile roller. I have seen Jenny rollers advertised with wiring dies but none of the instructions in them tell you how to use the wiring dies.
And info or pictures would help I was thinking i would have to make a roll form type setup to do the lengths i need. The guards average 3 feet long and have to be rolled on each side.
Any info at all would be great.
Regards
Dave

If you will go to the roper whitney site , they have a set of wiring dies available and explain the number of steps required.
If you will tip as step one and then roll as step 2 then close as step 3 you
can get there. Someone brought a wiring die to the first metalmeet in Huntsville that was used on a Pullmax. The final finish was VERY VERY GOOD.
Evrytime I see a wired edge I look for "tightness" or quality of "closure". I have seen several guys handle this all with a hammer and dolly. UNless you are verygood, it just isn't as nice as a machine finished unit. Many of us have Pullmax's and I for one would welcome a visit to get your project done nicely for a Saturday fun project. See whom might be close to you and go ahead and invite yourself over. smile.

Thanks george.
Where is the roper whitney site? And I would love to visit but i think it may be a 2000 mile plane trip from Australia. Maybe one day when the kids are older.
