It's 22 gauge steel. The flower is about 17" across. The pedals were formed on the planishing hammer using a concave UHMW lower die and a small radius upper.
I ran a bead on the leaves and did a similar operation on the 'hammer.

Bill shoots and scores! Perfect. Exactly what I had in mind. I can't wait to take a crack at it, you've set the standard. Describe how you made the pistals and how the petal and leaves are attached to the stem.
At 17" across, they ought to be able to see that bad boy going by at 60 mph. Nicely done. Now you can take it to copper and really kick it.
Nice work Bill.
Regards. Butch.

Thanks Butch,
Had not thought about copper 'til you mentioned it. That would be outrageous with some brass and ss.
It isn't as "imposing" as I thought it would be. May make a second set of patterns 50% larger at a later date.
The pistol and stamens are 1/8" wire. I cut 3 pieces about 15" long, folded in half and welded to the back of a flat washer along with an 8" piece for the pistol. The pistol is formed in a ring, the stamens are folded over and welded.
The pedals are separate parts formed and then welded together. There is a 1/4" bolt that is welded to the stem along with the calyx. A nut holds the assembly together. The leaves are welded to the stem.
May do a few things different on the two I'm building today. Will post photo of the patterns if you or anyone else is interested.

Great lillies Bill!
We met at Keith's last summer. I was theone with the heavy bossing hammers. Will you be at Peculier on the 21st and 22nd? If so could you bring patterns and show me how to create the lillies? Look forward to seeing you if you are there.

Thanks Gary and Ted,
Gary, will get a group photo in my gallery soon.
Ted, don't think I'll make the meet in Peculiar, maybe you will be at Keith's RebelMeet. Need to be here to do some sales I hope! The patterns are attached. I used a 3/8" rod for a stem. Didn't weld the stamen or pistol ends. I may change how I'm forming them in the next batch.
Look forward to seeing how other's creations look. Butch, I think someone else will "set the standard." I just had the time to make them first.
These are the two I just made and the patterns. Any questions or photo requests welcome.
Note; I attached photos same way as first post and they don't open the same for unknown reason.

Thanks Joe!
These are the dies I used to shape it. The Deep UHMW die has the edges peened over after 8 lilies so I made a die out of DOM and radiused the edges.
