Good day to you all!!!

My question is:

Does anybody Know if aluminium can be joinned are bonded to steel
and how is it done???

For example, steel bong to alu gas tank etc...
Not that I need to do it, but have heard all sort of stuff on this topic,
but no one seem's to know really what this process really involves,
much less have tried it.

Thank's

Marco.

Harris Alsolder will bond them.

but keep in mind, if you do it, you have just built a battery and wherever you tie it down and the joint itself will be a probable corrosion site if you get any salts/acids/bases on it.

Better plan for it.

We have two customers in our area that do what is called Explosion Bonding. Mostly it’s done so you would have an interface between the two materials, Aluminum/Steel, Copper/Stainless, Etc. One example is when we had an outfit that wanted to attach an aluminum pilot house to a steel boat. They used bonded metal (Aluminum/Mild steel) as the foundation for the house by welding the steel side to the hull and weld the house to the aluminum side. Worked great!

Don’t know if this is what you are asking, if so check out www.highenergymetals.com (http://www.highenergymetals.com/) or goggle search bonded-metals.
