Greetings to you all. I am new to the board, and metalworking, and look forward to years of learning!

I have done a search and did not see anyone commenting on this HF product. Does anybody have experience with their shear, press brake and slip roll machines? This looks like it might be OK for down to say.....20ga.

A friend of mine has one and dose quite a bit with it There are however other companys who have them also . Ennco I believe is one and grizzly is another ( grizzly.com) It all depends on the work you intend on doing . What area are you from ? We usually try to use our name also we are all friends here so we can more formally address you . :D :D :D :D

Thanks Steve

I've been contemplating the 52" model. It says it'll work 18ga. and weighs almost twice as much as the 40". I figure if I get that, I can sell the other equipment and gain some space. And, it'll shear full sheets! (48x96) Why would you want anything smaller? :D

Ken,

The 52" combo machine at the above HF link says 20ga max capacity. From what I've heard on other forums about these machines that would translate to about 24ga capacity on a good day.

i hear ya brother,
i bought one of those a while back cause i was tempted. the only thing worth while was the slip roll. i think the shear was NOT EVEN for cutting 26 gauge, i think it was for slicing lunch meat after all that rolling makes you hungry. (it worked :P )
and that was after getting everything lined up. i returned it the next day.
i figured i didn't need a 400lb paper weight.

a dedicated slip roll and a box pan brake is the way i went, it works for me........

Hey thanks guys. I really wanted it to work, but it sounds like this thing is more like a Swiss Army Knife than anything. You know, can do a million different things but none of them well.

Anyways, I apprecaite your feedback.

Hey ProStreet. I recently bought a back half for a 63 ProStreet Nova project I am doing from a company in Danville, PA. The company is Autoweld Chassis. Do you have any connection with them?

Thanks again guys

Thanks Doug and the rest. I guess I'll keep my separate equipment and build a shop addition. :D

What kind of radius can you get with a slip roll? If it's not tighter than 6", you can do the same work with a gokart slick in your ewheel and ot have to worry about the length of your slip roll.

i can get a 3" radius on my slip roll. i had my e-wheel long before the slip roll and i have found, DEPENDING ON THE APPLICATION, the slip roll is way faster and more accurate. and i have seen/read about you guys doing the go cart slick trick but i havent put one on my e-wheel as of yet. by the way , where would i get a 2"x 10" slick?? :?

The slick will help you do a wider bend, but a semipneumatic tire like a hard rubber lawn mower of caster wheel will also work and they are only a few bucks. That may even fit your yoke.

or i guess i could just fab a new yoke, since i built the thing to be interchangeable.
is wider better on the slick, in other words, should the slick be wider than the anvils??

thanks
