View Full Version : My first Try at metal bending
Over the Christmas holiday I spent some time banging out a patch panel for a Ford 8N grill. The grill had been repaired in the past but I wanted to try using a flexable pattern. It Worked as advertised! I now have a panel that is the proper size and shape.
It looks like a bag of walnuts now, but I will work on that. pictures are in my gallery. Thanks for the help. This site is great!!! JSI[/url]

Thats a nice peice ypu sould pu the pic in your post it's pretty easy.
The one thing that I have never understood is why so few tractors have severley rusted body work. most tractors have fairly sound sheetmetal but it does get good an dinged up from all that work.

My thoughts: They aren't exposed to road salts, the panels typically aren't closed so they don't trap moisture, and they're fairly heavy guage.
Plus, some of those tractors tend to be a bit oily.
On the other hand, machinery which is exposed to fertilizers and some of the Ag chemicals does rust.
