I want to start doing some metal shaping. I've got all the Aluminum Killed steel a man could want, anyone know where I can get a Yoder?

Looking forward to beginning this hobby, Phil

Phil, Why do you need a yoder hammer? If you are ready to start then get a sandbag and a block of wood and a few roughing hammers and a simple ewheel and go to work shaping parts. Most any Power hammer other than the one Cal offers is so out of price that only a dedicated professional can afford one.No matter what, you want to learn on the sand bag and hand tucking and finishing with a wheel. You then understand how metakl flows and how to make it flow. From here you can then decide what kind of more expensive shaping equipment to get.Even then there are better ways to spend equipment money. If you are going to do a lot of shaping then you can decide if you think the power hammer is the way to go.
I like my yoder but I don`t use it enough to say it is worthwhile but I bought it back when it was affordable and even then it was a serious investment but at that time it was the only way to power shrink which today there are several methods of power shrinking and Wray has brought the helve hammer from out of the middle ages and made it a modern nice working piece of equipment so the power hammer is not much faster than other affordable options. Hi Dutch, I don't really need one, just having a little fun with the mind set that says you need all sort of expensive tool in order to do anything. I bought a small bag from Imperial Wheeling while at the Frog Follies. I filled it with # 6 lead shot. I know that its kind of overkill, but we had 100 lbs of it laying around so I figured what the heck. I've got an E wheel pretty well on the way to completion but was advised to add an extra brace. Now if I can get away from working on other people stuff I might get something done on my
53 Chevy p/u.

All the best, Phil

As for Yodeling, you DON"T want this singing voice tuning up!
