english wheel run out.

my upper wheel has .009 run out, my anvils all have runout , i haven`t measured the anvils yet but they don`t look good. obviously .009 is way too much but how much runout is acceptable

Hi Tisdelski,

Top wheels and anvils should run in the perfect to .002" run out range. You can work with wheels that are slightly higher but it is better to true them up. To get them perfect is very difficult and expensive especially if they are hardened.

You should be able to get your top wheel with under .002" runout. The e-wheel will act like a new machine with true wheels.
