I didn't vaporize, Randy! :)

I had several very interesting personal events happen, and suffice it to say I have been less involved... I'm back, and once my house is finished being built (closing is set for Sept 24th, whoohoo!) I should be back, and as involved as evert

Take care,

Ben Carlson
North Branch, MN (Soon to be Rock Creek, MN)

WOOHOO! This is great, a meet that I can finally go to! The GF is from Minnesota, so I should have no trouble convincing her we need to go. Count me in, most definetly.

I found this site a few weeks ago and would be interested in attending a metalmeet. Please let me know what the dates will be so I can make sure they are clear.
This is the most informative site with people willing to help that I have found on the net. Thanks for all the good information. :P

Hi Derald,

There two types of MetalMeets, the large once a year International one and the Regional Meets.

Here is the information on the large International MetalMeet04.

We're shooting for 250 attendees this year. This is the largest group of sheetmetal shapers ever assembled. :D

The regional meets happen at different times of the year in different locations. You just have to follow along to see who volunteers to open their shop to sponsor a Regional Meet.

Hi Wray,
Thanks for the info. I don't think I will be able to make the metalmeet in IL this year.
I am a beginner at welding and bending metal. I will have some questions and will post a picture as soon as I get them developed.
Thanks again.

I too am interested in more info
I am in Wisconsin and hope to be able to attend but need info to be able to plan. I am now teaching shop classes at a local Catholic High School part time so need to get time off, maybe we can get a field trip for the kids for a day. That would be an awesome experience for them. How many days is this held?

I'm a newby to all this metal working stuff, but I'd love to make the winter meet. Anyone know the date yet? Also how much does it cost? being as I'm a broke college student that would probably be the biggest determening factor, so the further ahead of time I can get an idea of the date and cost the better chance I have...

If the timing works out, (If I am not in some desert in the mideast at that time), I would like to attend the meet also. I will keep watching for the dates to be posted.

Thats pretty sneaky Richard, scheduling the metalmeets on the odd months.
That ought to bring in all those Guild of Metalsmiths folks who need a metal fix and are going into withdrawal 'cause they only meet on even months.

If we send the schedule to their monthly newsletter we may even drag some luddites into the mix.
