I seem to have a problem with my hood welding lens fogging up on me while I am welding with the tig. I dont recall this happening to the lens while mig welding.

I fairly new to tig welding and hate having any more distractions than possible.

Maybe I am breathing to hard  .

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hello Keith, let me start by saying this is my first post on this site
and I hope I can help you.

I have tig, mig, arc and oxy-acetalene welded and I imagine as
how you are new to tig welding you are doing the same thing I
do when trying something new and concentrating very hard on
what you are doing and breathing alot heavier than you normally
would.

By the way I see that you and I are fairly close to each other, I
live just north of you in Sweet Springs. Hope to see you around
and good luck with your new welder.

Hello KSR,

Welcome to Metalmmeet.

You are right I was nervous and breathing too hard. It doesn't seem to fog up as much now.

We just had a get together here a Sedalia last month to bad you missed it.

Drop me a line sometime and we will shoot the bull.

Sweet Springs isn't that far. I'm from Saline County originally myself.

Hello Keith,

I will have to look you up sometime, I wish I had found this site
a little sooner. It sounds like your meet from last month would
have been very interesting.

By the way I have lived in or around Sweet Springs almost all
my life, I was born in Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia too.

You can pick up some anti fog stuff for goggles that works just as well on welding hoods  I grab mine at a paintball shop but I am sure more places sell it.

. The unit is worn around the waste and pulls air from your backside, the air is then blown into the mask
I don't know about that, Joe. It sounds kind of chancy to me. The err could be a bit rich.

I know I wouldn't want a "fresh air" hood sucking air from around
my backside, it might get deadly. LOL

I have heard good things about hoods like that from people that
weld all day at their jobs.
